About

GAIA غايا is an artist and creative currently based in New York City. She is passionate about not just creating art, but embodying it as well, viewing art as an extension of the self and a source of connection.

Her visual art style draws inspiration from artistic movements including Pop Art, Expressionism, and Impressionism. Much of her work combines vibrant color palettes and geometric shapes with human forms, to create pieces that are evocative, emotional, lingering, and surreal.

Her current creative project, self-titled GAIA غايا, is a journey into the transcendental, the transformative, and the living. It seeks to cultivate bold and inquisitive artworks -- housed within their own universe, or ArtWorld -- that explore the layers and connections between the self and the world, and themes such as autonomy and identity.

Etymology: The name Gaia, of Greek origin, encompasses earth, balance, consciousness, and life. The Arabized version -- written as "غايا" -- also nods to the Arabic noun غاية (pronounced the same way), referring to a purpose or a destination. The resulting title: GAIA غايا thus describes a journey, a series of creation, and an artistic meditation on the self and subconscious, moving towards an unknown destination or revelation.
